The History Center of San Luis Obispo County will unveil its Morro Bay Power Plant exhibit on Friday.

The free event will be from 6 to 9 p.m. as part of the Art After Dark series. The History Center is located at 696 Monterey St. in San Luis Obispo.

The exhibit will document the plant’s passage through time, starting from its 1955 opening.

The collection preserved by longtime former workers of the plant includes early photographs, a dedication speech by a state senator forecasting economic prosperity, equipment manuals, press releases and newsletters that shed light on the working culture within the plant.
