San Luis Obispo police are investigating what they have classified as the “suspicious death” of a resident at a mobile home park in the 3800 block of South Higuera Street.
At 8:30 a.m. Friday, police responded to reports from neighbors at the Silver City Mobile Home Park that they hadn’t seen the resident for two days and he was not answering his door, police Lt. John Bledsoe said.
When officers arrived, they peered inside and saw a man lying on the living room floor. Forcing entry into the mobile home, the officers discovered the man was dead and also found some things that seemed suspicious. For that reason, officers obtained a search warrant before continuing the investigation, Bledsoe said.
The identity of the man was not being released on Friday, although police Sgt. Chris Staley said he was in his 60s.

The cause of death is unknown and an autopsy is scheduled for next week, Bledsoe said. Police are continuing to investigate the death, which is listed as suspicious pending the results of the autopsy, toxicology results and the investigation findings.
Anyone with information on the death is asked to call the San Luis Obispo Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
