A car went off the roadway and about 60 feet down a cliff at Lopez Dam near Arroyo Grande, according to Sgt. David Nottenkamper with the county Sheriff’s Office.
According to dispatchers, rescuers spent about 45 minutes extracting a 60-year-old man from the vehicle. He did not appear to have suffered major trauma, dispatchers said, but his vehicle sustained major damage on the passenger side.
The crash victim was transported to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo to be treated for unknown injuries, Nottenkamper said.
Nottenkamper said he did not know “the manner or the reason of the crash.”
