Law enforcement agencies across San Luis Obispo County are asking for the public’s help in their search for an at-risk Atascadero resident missing since Thursday.
Family members of Stephanie Brummond, 58, said Monday morning that Brummond has been missing since she was released Thursday evening from County Mental Health Services in San Luis Obispo after being admitted Saturday for a psychiatric evaluation.
According to Kim Savage, Brummond’s sister, Brummond was provided with a countywide bus pass upon her release, but neither family nor authorities have heard from her since, despite searching county shelters and food kitchens. She does not have access to a vehicle and is thought to be on foot.
Brummond is described as having auburn hair and green eyes and was last seen wearing a oversized orange T-shirt, black leggings and black shoes.

According to Sgt. Jason Carr, a missing persons report was filed in Atascadero late last week, and the department has since issued a notification to agencies both in and outside the county, though it is believed she is still in San Luis Obispo County.
Anyone with information about Brummond’s whereabouts is asked to call the Atascadero Police Department at 461-5051.
