Eileen Rogers, Lillian Larsen School Hornet Queen, is retiring after 34 years.
She has made a tremendous impact on the school over the years and will be missed.
She founded the annual Buzz Marathon, which funds school sports. In the classroom, she implemented programs that enhanced enthusiasm for learning and promoted Healthy Hornets for healthy living habits.
On Saturday, June 7, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., there will be a farewell fiesta featuring singing, dancing and carnival games. There will also be food and beverages for sale to raise money for next year’s eighth-grade projects. Everyone is welcome!

Annual fiesta at Mission San Antonio
On Sunday, June 8, Mission San Antonio de Padua will hold its annual fiesta from noon to 4 p.m.
The Fiesta Mass is at 11 a.m. The traditional oak-fired barbecue with choice of top sirloin or chicken is $12. Two bands will entertain: Los Missioneros del Valle Mariachis and Little Creek playing bluegrass.
There will be booths featuring local vendors and games. No personal coolers, please.
Take Highway 101 north to Jolon Road then to Mission Road, which runs through Fort Hunter Liggett.
Man recovering after car accident in town
Larry Reuck, known for his expertise in small machines repair, is now at home recovering from a broken pelvis and other injuries sustained when he was hit by an antique car parked along Mission Street.
While Reuck was admiring the cars, an errant driver ran into one of them, causing a chain-reaction accident in which Reuck was injured and three of the cars were damaged.
