On Monday, Memorial Day, the Matt Nino Band will present a concert in San Miguel Park from 2 to 4 p.m.

The Native Sons of the Golden West Parlor #150 will serve chicken and top sirloin at $15 a plate beginning at noon. Bring lawn chairs and relax with good music and food.

Nino Construction is currently constructing the 58-home Jazzy Town development near the west end of the Salinas River Bridge on North River Road.

The San Miguel Library (and all county libraries) will be closed on Tuesday in observance of Memorial Day.

This year’s summer program is titled “Fizz Boom Read.” Programs in San Miguel will be presented on June 19 and 26 and July 10. Watch for more information.

The San Miguel Advisory Council will hold its regular meeting on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Community Building in the park. The council will be taking nominations for election, which will be held at the June meeting.

The Ranch Steakhouse, next door to the concert venue, is now open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 5 to 10 p.m. and on Sundays from 5 to 9 p.m. They have spent time redoing the building, which looks very nice. For reservations call 467-5047.

A San Miguel team is being formed to participate in the Kick it! Kick it! Kickball League, under the auspices of Playground Sports, from June 1-29. Registration deadline is May 29. For information and to register, go to playgroundsports.net or call 541-221-2392
