Waste collector urges Templeton residents to compost food waste

Templeton residents are encouraged to compost their food waste in a new program through

Customers can store the items in the pail, which has a lid, to store in their kitchen, and then dump it in their regular green waste container for pickup. The items will be later made into compost.

The Vegetative Food Waste Composting Program is being offered through Mid-State Solid Waste & Recycling with the Templeton Community Services District and San Luis Obispo County’s Integrated Waste Management Authority.
