Motorcyclist injured after being hit by SUV in SLO

A San Luis Obispo woman was taken to the hospital with major injuries after she was hit by an SUV while riding her motorcycle Thursday.

The 26-year-old woman was traveling northbound on Sacramento Drive at 9:45 a.m. when she entered the intersection at Capitolio Way, according to a news release from the San Luis Obispo Police Department. A 47-year-old Arroyo Grande man driving east on Capitolio Way entered the intersection in front of the motorcyclist and caused the crash, according to police.

The woman was taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medial Center for treatment and was in the intensive care unit, according to police.

The driver was not injured. He showed no signs of impairment and was released at the scene.
