Nominations for Women of Distinction Awards are being accepted

The Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County’s Women’s Legacy Fund and Cuesta College are accepting nominations for the 37th annual Women of Distinction Awards.

The awards are meant to recognize the contributions that women have made in volunteering in the community, through professional work and through philanthropy.

Although the Women of Distinction Awards took a hiatus in 2010, it is now back, and will be held during Women’s History Month in March, according to a news release.

There are four categories: the Progress for Women Award, Community and Public Service Award-Professional, Community and Public Service Award-Volunteer, and the Grace N. Mitchell Lifetime Achievement Award.

The deadline to submit nominations is Jan. 31. For information on the nomination process, visit http://www.sloccf.org.

Winners will be honored at the Women of Distinction Ceremony at Cuesta College from 4 to 6 p.m. on March 20.
