With rain in the forecast, the Prado Day Center Warming Station will be open to people with no homes on Thanksgiving Day.

Doors will be open at 8:30 a.m. Thursday and remain open until Friday at 4:30 p.m., Homeless Services Director Dee Torres said.

The warming station, at 43 Prado Road in San Luis Obispo, is also accepting donations of paper plates; cans of coffee and powdered creamer; breakfast items such as cereal and milk; and food items including peanut butter, jelly, giant tuna cans, and mayonnaise for sandwiches.

To donate, drop off goods at the shelter Wednesday between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., or until 4:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday. For details, contact Torres at 805-541-6351, ext. 822.
