After more than three months, a road in rural Arroyo Grande is once again open to vehicle traffic.
Drivers may now use Cecchetti Road, which connects Lopez Drive to Branch Mill Road, to access Branch Elementary School and the Huasna area.
The road was closed in January after crews found problems with a concrete crossing over Arroyo Grande Creek and determined it wasn’t safe for vehicles.
Drivers were directed to a detour on Huasna Road, adding a few miles onto their trips.

San Luis Obispo County public works crews reopened the crossing about 10:30 a.m. Friday.
“The crews will still be out there a little bit to pick up the signage and ensure the site is cleared up,” county Development Services Division manager Frank Honeycutt wrote in an email to residents. “However, you should have no delay getting through.”
The county Board of Supervisors had on April 2 approved a work plan to fix the Cecchetti Road crossing for an estimated $50,000.
