A regional transportation agency is seeking information about the ways in which bicycle riders behave on the Central Coast.
The San Luis Obispo Council of Governments this week will be mailing surveys to more than 2,000 randomly selected individuals, asking fortheir thoughts on bicycling.
Data gathered will become available in August on the SLOCOG website at http://www.slocog.org. It will be used to develop programming and infrastructure investment priorities.
The survey will also help increase understanding of the current bicycling system and its use as a transportation option, SLOCOG planners say.

The survey was triggered by a 2011 hearing at which members of the public requested the information. The $5,000 for the survey is split between SLOCOG and the county Air Pollution Control District.
It goes to the San Luis Obispo County Bicycle Coalition, which will conduct the survey.
