A tribute to a Lillian Larsen teacher

The San Miguel School District Board meets tonight in the Library at Lillian Larsen School. Open session starts at 6:30 p.m. This is a new, earlier time. The agenda is available on their web site at http://www.sanmiguelschools.org/. Call for more information.

The first Cappy Culver School Career Day will be held for middle school students on Friday, March 15 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Community volunteers will speak on a variety of careers and trades. Students will learn what educational goals they must meet and how to prepare for the future.

Lillian Larsen School students and teachers and their families were shocked by the sudden loss of beloved teacher Ann Granados, who passed away on February 21 at French Hospital in San Luis Obispo. Ann began teaching at the school in 1990. She was also gifted in music, teaching keyboard and choir to students for the past ten years in the after-school program Masters at Their Trade (sponsored and funded by the San Miguel Resource Connection).  In her memory, a scholarship has been set up for Paso Robles High School graduates who have completed the seventh and eighth grades at Lillian Larsen School. Donations may be made at any Wells Fargo Bank to account #6254470591. The family service was private. A public memorial service was held at the Bible Church in Paso Robles on March 9. She will be greatly missed.  A tribute has been posted on http://www.discoversanmiguel.com/.

Also there is a big thank you to all the volunteers who helped out downtown on Clean-Up Day on http://www.discoversanmiguel.com/ with some great pictures of the community working together.
