More than 100 volunteers will help install solar panels on homes in Oceano on Saturday at GRID Alternatives’ second annual Solarthon.
Volunteers will work with professionals to install the panels on eight homes in the oceanside community.
Among the government and community leaders who will be on hand to congratulate the volunteers are Rep. Lois Capps, D-Santa Barbara, Assemblyman Katcho Achadjian, R-San Luis Obispo, and San Luis Obispo County Supervisor Paul Teixeira.
Capps will speak about the “tremendous support” for clean energy on the Central Coast, and her efforts in Congress to encourage renewable energy sources.
