The construction of sidewalks and driveway ramps along the downtown section of the Atascadero’s main thoroughfare is under way, according to a news release from the city.
The roughly $108,000 city project is using federal grant money to build new concrete curbs, gutters and sidewalks and other features along El Camino Real from Rosario to San Jacinto avenues.
The city awarded the work contract to Rockwood General Contractors Inc. in Arroyo Grande. The project is expected to wrap up by Dec. 7, officials said.
Access to homes should remain open, but city officials say the public may encounter “brief road closures” during the project. Those with questions can call the city at 470-3148.
