Backward jogger runs through San Miguel
You may have recently seen someone running backward on Highway 101. Shadrack Anderson Jr., known as The Amazing Backwards Running Man, was in San Miguel on Monday.
Anderson first ran backward in Army boot camp in 1966. The 63-year-old Vietnam veteran took up backward running permanently around 1986, finding it extremely uplifting and beneficial to his physical and mental health.
Anderson left the Santa Monica Pier on Sept. 3 and plans to arrive at the Golden Gate Bridge on Oct. 12.
