Benefit at Basque Café
Tonight at 6, the Basque Café is presenting “Touch of Africa” to benefit the 60-Mile Walk for Cancer in November.
Chef Dallas Holt will provide African food and guests will be entertained with African dancing and drumming. Kamie Wine Cellars will provide wines. Bids will be accepted in a silent auction, which includes African jewelry, until 8 p.m. Artist Antoinette Magyar will also be featured.

Fiesta Mass is Sunday
The Fiesta Mass will be at 11 a.m. Sunday. Festivities will follow at the picnic grounds with a barbecue, games for the children and an arts and crafts sale.
No coolers are allowed on the grounds. Live music will be presented by Raul Gonzalez El Tapatio, Relampago, Brad Lewis and Smoke Wagon and Los Pasteles Verdes. More entertainment will be provided by Folklorico Dancers.
Advance dinner tickets are $10 for adults. Tickets are $12 at the gate. Admission for children younger than 12 is $8. Meet and greet the riders from the California Missions Ride. All proceeds benefit mission restoration and preservation. Bienvenidos amigos!
Rummage sale for Adobe
Sept. 22, the Friends of the Adobes will hold a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Rios-Caledonia Adobe, 700 Mission St. (south end of town). Donations are welcome. All proceeds benefit the preservation of the old adobe. For information, call Joyce Herman at 440-7173.
