Motorists in Morro Bay should expect delays at Quintana Road and South Bay Boulevard from now until mid-March.
Work crews are replacing a sewage lift station at the intersection. The work will cause traffic, bike lane and pedestrian restrictions, but businesses will remain open and accessible during the construction.
The most noticeable restriction will be the closure of the northbound lane of Quintana Road at South Bay Boulevard. The lift station is located in the right-of-way in the intersection’s northwest corner.
The work, which started Monday, will include the installation of a new lift station and 5,300 feet of gravity main line along Quintana Road. The project will minimize the potential for sewage spills.
