SLO police to use $22,000 grant to fight alcohol-related crimes

The San Luis Obispo Police Department has been awarded a $22,000 grant from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control to target alcohol-related crimes.

Police officers will combine efforts with agents from the Alcoholic Beverage Control program to make sure that businesses are complying with regulations and are not selling alcohol to minors.

The grant will be used to reduce the number of alcoholic beverages sold to minors and obviously intoxicated patrons, illegal solicitations of alcohol, and other criminal activities such as the sale and possession of illegal drugs, according to a news release issued by the Police Department.
