On Sunday, pioneer families and friends will meet, greet and eat together at the annual Lions Club Old Timers Picnic at San Miguel Park on K Street. Pioneer Day Royalty will be on hand, and everyone 80 or older is treated to a free meal.
Greeting and registration will start at 11:30 a.m. Dinners will be served from noon to 3 p.m. They’ll also take listings of birthdays, anniversaries and meetings for the 2013 Lions Club calendar.
At 6 p.m. Monday, a meeting will be held at the San Miguel Mercantile on Mission Street to form a committee for the annual Christmas Light Parade, which will be held on a Saturday in December (date to be decided). All interested people are invited to attend. Ideas and suggestions are welcome. If you can’t make the meeting and would like to participate, contact Miki at 975-6996 or see her at the Mercantile. There is always room for more helpers.
