Lt. Ty Lewis said the shooting may have involved a man from King City and a group of individuals from Paso Robles. Police are continuing to investigate the shooting, which didn’t result in any injuries.
About 3:30 p.m. Friday, police said a man standing in the parking lot of J N J’s Liquor on Spring Street fired several shots into the air using a rifle or shotgun.
That shooter then left in a white car, similar to a Ford Contour; the vehicle was driven by someone else, according to police.
Based on surveillance video footage that showed the white car and bullet holes found in the liquor store’s wall, investigators believe a different person may have shot at the car in the parking lot, according to the a Police Department news release.
No arrests have been made in the case.
“We’re not releasing any suspect names or any additional details at this point,” Lewis said. “We’re continuing to investigate.”
Friday’s shooting was the first of two reported in two days in Paso Robles.
On Saturday night, police say a 25-year-old Paso Robles man was shot by someone he was arguing with in the parking lot of the Dry Creek Apartments along Corral Creek Avenue. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
