The partial skeletal remains of an adult male were found Sunday around 12:30 p.m. in a creek running through a Chevron-owned property off Tank Farm Road between Higuera Street and Highway 227 near the southern edge of San Luis Obipso.
There is no indication of foul play, according to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office.
A person, leasing the land from Chevron, found the badly decomposed body in the water of a creek that flows through the undeveloped property on the south side of Tank Farm Road.
An initial investigation by detectives suggests that the body may have washed downstream. It is unknown howlong the person has been dead but it may have been up to a year, according to Tony Cipolla, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office.
