The Golden 1 Credit Union said Wednesday that it’s offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the man who robbed its branch at 852 E. Foothill Blvd. in San Luis Obispo on May 3.
Bank employees said a man carrying a handgun entered the bank at 3:15 p.m. and told everyone to get on the floor. He then handed a plastic bag to a bank employee and told him to put money in it. The robber was last seen running north.
Witnesses described the robber as a black or dark-skinned Hispanic man, about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a stocky build. He was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, jeans and blue tennis shoes and had a bandanna or dark-colored shirt partially covering his face. One witness saw the letters "LA" tattooed on his left hand.
Anyone with information on the robbery can call San Luis Obispo police at 781-7312, the FBI at (310) 996-3999 or Crime Stoppers at 549-7867.
