In an effort to connect with more veterans around the county, a new satellite office of San Luis Obispo County Veterans Services is opening July 16 in the Pismo Beach Veterans Hall at 780 Bello St.
The office will be open Mondays and Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., by appointment only, which may be scheduled by calling 781-5766.
The Pismo Beach office is one of two satellite sites. The other is in the Paso Robles Veterans Hall at 240 Scott St. That office is open Wednesdays and Thursdays by appointment.
In addition, the Veterans Services Office has opened a booth at the San Luis Obispo Farmers Market on Thursdays to share information with veterans who may not normally seek services and to hand out resource books.

"This is an exciting opportunity for the County Veterans Services Department," said Dana Cummings, San Luis Obispo Veterans Service officer. "The more we are able to bring our service to the veterans where they live, work and play, the better we can connect them to benefits and services they have earned though their military service."
County Veterans Services main office is at the San Luis Obispo Veterans Hall, 801 Grand Ave. It is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., for walk-ins and appointments. The phone number for that office is 781-5766.
