People driving between the San Luis Obispo-Monterey county line and Big Sur may encounter delays of up to 15 minutes as crews restripe center and edge lines and place new pavement markers on a 42-mile stretch of Highway 1.
Work is to take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and until noon on Fridays. One-way traffic control by flagging and pilot car will be used. Electronic message signs also will be set up to alert motorists of the work and expected delay times.
The contractor for the $332,000 project is Central Striping Service of Rancho Cordova. Work is expected to be complete by June 22.
