The public is invited to help the city of Atascadero pull weeds, tidy up trails and landscape open space during a new series of community cleanup days.
The volunteer program was launched in recent weeks by the city’s Public Works Department after some members of the community sought opportunities to help the city.
“We frequently have requests from residents to help clean our parks, trails, pick up roadside litter or assist in other ways,” Deputy Public Works Director Geoff English said. “The volunteer spirit runs deep in Atascadero.”
Volunteers are invited to help pick up litter, pull weeds, spread mulch, rake and other tasks starting this Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at Creek Side Park. Those interested in helping should meet at City Hall, 6907 El Camino Real where a public works employee will lead volunteers to the park site.
