Tea Party congressional candidate Chris Mitchum has picked up an endorsement for the House of Representatives from the San Luis Obispo chapter of the California Congress of Republicans.

Mitchum is running against fellow Republican Abel Maldonado, Democrat Lois Capps, and unaligned candidate Mark Boutte in Tuesday’s primary. The top two finishers will square off in November.

The Congress of Republicans also endorsed Larry Beaman for state senator and Katcho Achadjian for Assembly.

In Board of Supervisors races, the congress is backing Ed Waage in the 3rd District against Adam Hill and Debbie Arnold in the 5th District against Jim Patterson.

According to its website, the California Congress of Republicans was founded in 1989 as “a mainstream conservative, grassroots volunteer organization.” The local group is based in Los Osos.
