Arroyo Grande High junior Madison Jacobs finished second in the girls discus at the CIF State Track and Field Championships today in Clovis.
By one inch.
Jacobs took the lead on the fourth of six throws with a personal-record toss of 155 feet, 9 inches. That held up until Lissette Mendivil of Redwoods High in Visalia threw 155-10 on her sixth and final throw of the competition.
Templeton's Savannah Camacho finished second in the girls 800 meters for the third straight year as she finished her high school career. Camacho ran 2 minutes, 9.30 seconds to finish behind Harvard-Westlake's Amy Weissenbach for the third straight season. Weissenbach won in 2:05.70.

Arroyo Grande senior Garrett Weinreich finished second in the boys shot put with a PR of 61-11 1/2. Newport Harbor's Ethan Cochran won with a throw of 62-4 1/4. Weinreich was third last year.
In the girls 3,200, San Luis Obispo's Christine Hoffmann was 15th.
