Atascadero motorists should expect minor traffic delays beginning in the middle of this month when the city begins work to repave Atascadero Avenue.
The City Council awarded a roughly $604,000 contract to Paso Robles-based Ferravanti Grading & Paving to repair the road surface on Atascadero Avenue between Highway 41 to southeast of San Gabriel Road.
The asphalt rehabilitation project, expected to take six to eight weeks, will require periodic lane closures and minor traffic delays, according to a news release.
The project features an asphalt recycling process that consists of grinding the existing asphalt on the road, mixing it with specialized additives and immediately repaving the road with the new overlay, according to the city.
