Creston will hold a dedication ceremony to celebrate its new firehouse Wednesday beginning at 3 p.m. at the new station, 6055 Webster Road.
The station will be staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, according to Battalion Chief Paul Van Gerwen.
Fire Chief Rob Lewin said the station will serve residents for 50 years. It will provide service and protection to areas in and around Creston that total 135 square miles.
Currently, the Creston fire station operates out of two modular structures used for office and living space, as well as a detached metal building being used to store a county fire engine.
The public is invited to the dedication and will get a tour of the new facility.
