A 59-year-old male was hospitalized with major injuries Thursday night after wrecking his truck on Highway 101 north of Spyglass Drive in Pismo Beach, according to the CHP.
Officer Jason Jennings said the driver of a Ford F-250 was alone in his truck driving northbound about 8:30 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and drifted into the center median. He overcorrected to the right and lost control of the vehicle, which rolled twice before ending up in the traffic lanes, Jennings said.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, which left the driver with major head trauma, Jennings said.
No other cars were involved in the accident, but northbound Highway 101 traffic was diverted for a little more than an hour to Spyglass Road, Jennings said.
