Three more Atascadero State Hospital employees attacked by patients

Three Atascadero State Hospital employees were attacked recently in two separate incidents, according to information the hospital released today.

On Friday, a patient reportedly assaulted two employees, according to ASH spokesman Craig Dacus. On Saturday, one employee was reportedly assaulted by a patient, he said.

No other information was released, such as the employees’ names or positions, their injuries or where the assaults took place in the hospital. No arrests were reported.

Since the beginning of February, the hospital has reported five other assaults by patients on employees at the high-security facility in southeast Atascadero. The hospital treats mentally ill inmates from the correctional system and other violent offenders.
