A fundraising event, the Strike Out Stigma Bowl-a-Thon, will be over three weekends in March to benefit San Luis Obispo Hotline, a local suicide prevention and mental health crisis line.
The event has been held for 30 years and will also support other programs operated by Transitions-Mental Health Association, which is dedicated to eliminating stigma and promoting recovery and wellness for people with mental illness through work, housing, community and family support services.
The nonprofit also runs Growing Grounds Farm, a nonprofit wholesale nursery.
The bowl-a-thon will be held at Pismo Bowl, 277 Pomeroy Ave. in Pismo Beach, on March 9, 16, 18, 23, 24 and 25; at Rancho Bowl, 128 E. Donovan Road in Santa Maria on March 10; at Cal Poly Mustang Lanes, on the bottom floor of the Julian A. Mcphee University Union on March 11; and at Paso Bowl, 2748 Spring St. in Paso Robles, on March 17.
