Friends of the Adobes recently elected Ron Domingos as its new president. He is a docent at the Rios-Caledonia Adobe here and also at the Carnegie Museum in Paso Robles. Ron is a talented guitarist, and he sometimes serenades visitors to the Caledonia, which sold 106 jars of its popular cactus jelly recently.
A fresh batch of 83 more jars awaits buyers to complete this year’s sale of the delectable treat. Fourth-grade tours are keeping the docents very busy, and volunteers are always warmly and enthusiastically welcomed. Call 467-3357 and leave a message for Joyce Herman if you are interested. The Rios-Caledonia is at 700 Mission St. just south of Mission San Miguel. Hours are Friday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Stay tuned for news of upcoming events.
