The San Miguel Sagebrush Days Committee announced that this year’s parade will take place Saturday, April 21. The theme is The Old West, and committee members are hard at work planning a day full of events and fun.
Plans include a peddlers’ fair, an apple pie contest, rib cook-off and quickdraw shootout.
Entry forms for the parade and the fair are available online at Discover San Miguel, the community service district office, San Miguel Mercantile and Mission Antiques. The entry deadline is April 16. For parade information, call Miki Landseadel at 975-6996. Fair spaces are $10; vendors may call Mike Sanders at 712-9120. Put on your best bib and tucker, and join the San Miguel folks to celebrate Sagebrush Days 2012. Yee-haw!

On Monday afternoon, family and friends gathered at San Miguel Cemetery to bid goodbye to Millie Hunt. Millie was featured in the Tribune several years ago as a regular customer at the Country Diner who enjoyed having “a piece of pie every day.”
We will miss Millie and her gentle presence.
