A San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office deputy has arrested a 16-year-old boy accused in the December burglary of $8,500 worth of cameras and lenses from Nipomo High School’s yearbook staff room.
The boy, a student at Loma Vista Community School northwest of San Luis Obispo who was arrested Friday, is accused of breaking out a window and stealing the equipment on Dec. 26, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.
Authorities recovered most of the equipment, though the boy sold one of the lenses online, the Sheriff’s Office said. Some of the equipment was reportedly stashed at various locations.
The Sheriff’s Office did not disclose the boy’s name because he is a minor, nor the charges that he faces.
