73-year-old rides bike into back of CHP patrol car in Cambria

A 73-year-old Cambria man was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries after he ran into a CHP patrol car parked alongside Highway 1 this morning.

The CHP car had pulled over a motorist just north of Cambria Drive, and both cars were parked on the right shoulder about 6 feet to the right of the white line along the roadway's edge, according to a CHP report.

Bicyclist Albert Gregory Stone apparently did not notice the cars on the roadside and ran into the back of the patrol car and tumbled forward, hitting the rear window before falling to the ground. He was taken by ambulance to Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton.
