UPDATE 12:50 p.m.: Kreuzberg, CA has reopened after a fan malfunctioned and caused a small electrical fire earlier today, according to a post on their Facebook page.
UPDATE 11:55 a.m.: The intersection of Broad and Higuera streets has been reopened after fire crews responded to a report of smoke at coffee house, Kreuzberg, CA.
San Luis Obispo Fire Department Battalion Chief Dave Podhorsky said patrons first noticed the smoke and notified employees at the coffee house.
When investigators arrived on scene they discovered a bathroom fan had malfunctioned. “It was an ancient motor that basically overheated and put out a fair amount of smoke,” Podhorsky said.

Kreuzberg, CA will temporarily close while the damage caused by the smoke is cleaned up. An inspector from the health department has to be called in to give the establishment the all-clear before it can reopen. The battalion chief estimates the shop will open sometime today or tomorrow.
