San Luis Obispo residents will soon be able to pay their water and sewer bill online and receive bills via email if preferred.
The city is upgrading its utility billing system with a new software system to increase efficiency and lower operating costs. Residents will still have the choice of having their bills mailed to their homes if they prefer.
The e-bill option is expected to save the city $13,000 in production and mailing costs of paper bills. The system will also make things easier on the city’s end by eliminating the need for manual entry, according to a news release.
The new billing system will be implemented Jan. 30. More information is available at http://www.slowater.org.
