Traffic was backed up for about a mile in the westbound lane of Highway 46 East outside Paso Robles today after a motorcyclerear-ended a sedan around 3:30 p.m.
The motorcyclist, whose name was not available, was taken by ambulance to Twin Cities Community Hospital to be treated for what authorities said were minor injuries.
The driver of the motorcycle reportedly failed to stop in time when traffic slowed on the highway. The driver then hit the rear bumper ofan Acura that slowed in the Whitley Gardens area, one mile east of Union Road, according to the CHP. The motorcycle and emergency crewswere partially blocking a lane after the incident.
Early reports saying that a semi truck was involved were later canceled, officials said.

The highway’s westbound lanes were cleared by 4 p.m.
