A fire at a home in San Luis Obispo this afternoon caused damage to the attic and a fence but didn’t hurt anyone.

The blaze was reported about 12:30 p.m. today on the 1300 block of Avalon Street in San Luis Obispo.

The fire started at the fence of the property and spread to the eaves and attic of the single-family home, said San Luis Obispo Fire Department Battalion Chief Dave Podhorsky.

Podhorsky said that firefighters were able to stop the flames from spreading to the living area.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation. Nobody was injured, and the fire didn’t spread to any other homes in the neighborhood.
