Sale of local art, food to help feed hungry

Today is the final chance to purchase handcrafted gifts and benefit the county Food Bank in a special cooperative project of 30 artists and merchants — including organic growers — in Paso Robles.

Ten percent of sale proceeds will be donated to the Food Bank. The sale runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today, Dec. 24, at 205 Oak Hill Road, No. 106.

Coordinator Julie White-Chaples said that the group, which is temporarily leasing the vacant store front, chose to support the Food Bank because of the need to support the hungry in the community.

“Fighting against hunger in our county is something we all felt we could connect to,” White-Chaples said. “We all really want to make a difference.”
