A patient at Atascadero State Hospital assaulted three psychiatric technicians Monday, spokesman Craig Dacus confirmed Tuesday.
Staff and hospital police responded to contain the situation, he added.
Dacus disclosed few details, including the employees’ names, their injuries or where at the hospital the assaults took place.
Two of the employees were seen in the hospital’s medical area before leaving work after the 1:45 p.m. incident. The third was not treated at ASH and left work at the end of the employee’s shift, Dacus said.
No arrest was made, and the investigation is ongoing. Information on why the patient wasn’t arrested wasn’t available Tuesday night.
ASH is a high-security state hospital in southeast Atascadero that treats mentally ill inmates from the correctional system and other violent offenders.
The information on recent attacks is the result of daily checks by The Tribune on violence at the facility.
Last week, the hospital confirmed three separate attacks on employees, including one incident that could result in felony charges against a patient for assault with a deadly weapon.
