An allegation that a Morro Bay man raped a woman in a park in Cambria last summer won’t be charged by the District Attorney’s Office.
Hans Steinmann, 45, was arrested in August by the county Sheriff’s Department’s Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement unit on suspicion of raping a woman at a park in Cambria.
The alleged victim was an acquaintance of Steinmann, according to authorities, who said the reported incident took place about 10 p.m. on Aug. 5 in Shamel Park. Citing lack of sufficient evidence after review of the evidence, the District Attorney’s Office said the case won’t be prosecuted.
