A San Luis Obispo man was arrested early Wednesday after allegedly breaking into cars on Santa Rosa Street.

A resident called 911 at approximately 2:15 a.m. after hearing glass break in the 1600 block of the street, according to a news release from the San Luis Obispo Police Department.

A second caller then said a man was seen running south from the area in a dark hooded jacket.

Officers arrived and found two vehicles with shattered driver's side windows, according to the news release. They were able to detain Wade Scott, 25, after a short chase and struggle.

Items taken from the second vehicle that had been broken into were found, according to police.

Scott was booked into County Jail. Bail was set at $100,000.
