Three nurses and one hospital police officer at Atascadero State Hospital were injured Nov. 3 in two separate incidents of patient assaults.
In the first incident, a patient assaulted two nursing employees. The employees were treated at hospital’s medical wing, and they returned to work Nov. 4, according to the hospital.
The second incident on Nov. 3 also involved a patient attack on a nursing employee.
“During the response to intervene, a hospital police officer was assaulted by the same patient,” ASH spokesman Craig Dacus said.

Both of those employees returned to work following the incident.
Few details about either incident were released. Information about the nature of the assaults, where they took place inside ASH and what injuries were suffered was not disclosed.
ASH officials emailed a statement to The Tribune on Wednesday regarding the attacks only after requests for comment about the incidents were made.
No arrests were made in either incident, and the investigation is ongoing, Dacus said.
ASH is a state hospital that treats mentally ill inmates from the correctional system, among others.
