The host Templeton Eagles rolled by the Morro Bay Pirates 41-21 in the Los Padres League game.
The explosive Eagles had three scoring plays of at least 60 yards. After struggling offensively in the first quarter with a punt and an interception, the offense found its rhythm when Alex Elterman threw an 89-yard touchdown pass to Tobey Isbell following a blocked Morro Bay field goal.

Matt Arace broke a 75-yard touchdown run in the second as the Eagles outscored the Pirates 20-0 in the quarter. Conner Truhitte ran for a 60-yard touchdown in the third to make it 27-0.
The Pirates finally scored on the first play of the fourth when Tristan Collins ran it in from 2 yards out, but the game was already out of reach. Morro Bay also had a long touchdown of its own when Jordan Bray ran for 80 yards.
Backup quarterback Weston Coy threw an 18-yard pass to Isbell for the final Eagles score. Morro Bay responded with a late touchdown to make the final score 41-21.

Morro Bay finally scored in the second half with a pair of rushing touchdowns, but the game is still out of reach in favor of Templeton, which leads 34-15 early in the fourth quarter.
Templeton's Conner Truhitte scored on a 60-yard run in the beginning of the third as Templeton picked up right where it left off in the second quarter. Truhitte's touchdown was the third Eagles score of at least 60 yards.
Tristan Collins scored on the first play of fourth quarter from 2 yards out for Morro Bay.
Less than a minute later, Matt Arace brought the lead back up to 27 points again with a 5-yard rushing touchdown for Templeton.
Morro Bay finally had a long score of its own as Jordan Bray broke free for an 80-yard rushing touchdown. The successful two-point conversion brought the Pirates to within 34-15.

Templeton found its offensive rhythm in a big way in the second quarter against Morro Bay as the Eagles lead the Pirates 20-0 at halftime.
Templeton outgained Morro Bay 238-77 in total yards in the first half. Templeton quarterback Alex Elterman is 4 for 6 for 131 yards and two touchdowns and one interception. Most of his yards were accumulated on the touchdown passes, as he completed an 89-yard score to Tobey Isbell and 32-yard touchdown to Cameron Silzer.
Eagles running back Matt Arace ran for 103 yards and a touchdown.
Pirates running back Tristan Collins rushed for 72 out of Morro Bay's 77 total yards on 13 carries.

Morro Bay and Templeton High both struggled to move the ball effectively in the first quarter tonight as there were four punts and a turnover on downs between the teams.
However, Templeton scored on an 89-yard touchdown pass from Alex Elterman to Tobey Isbell early in the second quarter following a blocked Pirate 30-yard field goal attempt for a 7-0 lead.
Morro Bay ended the quarter at the Eagles' 11-yard line behind Tristian Collins 48 yards on eight carries in the quarter, but came away with no points following the block. Kaine Davis of Morro Bay had an interception in the first quarter.
