On Saturday and Sunday, the Busy Bees of Mission San Miguel will hold their annual arts and crafts fair at the mission.
The fair will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday. Selected items will be sold at two-for-the-price-of-one. Baked goods and tamales will also be on sale. Proceeds go to benefit the parish community building fund.
The San Miguel Seniors are taking orders for their holiday enchiladas. Order chicken or beef or both at $35 per dozen. Deadline for orders is Nov. 14 and enchiladas will be available for pick-up on Nov. 19 at the Senior Center, 601 E. 12th St. To order, call 674-2968. Proceeds go to maintenance and improvement of the center.

New Cowan baby
Andrew Thomas Cowan was born Oct. 24 in Newport News, Va., to Bryan and Alice Cowan. Paternal grandparents are Bryan K. and Andrea Schmitz Cowan of Las Cruces, N.M. and maternal grandparents are Dr. Thomas and Jane Pellegrino of Norfolk, Va.
He is my first great-grandchild and I’m looking forward to meeting him this summer.
