Cambria’s population grew in October with the addition of about 225 scarecrows. Publicity in AAA’s Westways magazine and other out-of-county publications helped attract many visitors to the town, including many who stayed overnight and shopped at local stores, according to enthusiastic innkeepers and shop owners.
The third annual display was put together by Taylor Hilden and Chris Landgreen, co-chairmen of the Cambria Historical Society’s Scarecrow Festival Committee.
The monthlong display ends Tuesday. Plans are already in the works for the fourth annual festival.
