The Paso Robles High offense proved too much for St. Joseph to overcome, as the Bearcats held off the Knights 38-25 in a PAC 7 football game.
Garrett Nelson passed for two touchdowns and ran for another to lead Paso Robles (2-3, 1-1). Elias Stokes was on the receiving end of Nelson's two touchdown passes in the first half.
St. Joseph (2-3, 0-3) scored with seven minutes to go in the fourth quarter when Paul Avila hit Chad Brooks with a 10-yard touchdown pass to pull within 31-25.
However, the Bearcats' defense shut down the Knights for the rest of the game and the offense responded with an insurance touchdown to seal the game.

St. Joseph's defense stiffened in the third quarter to give the Knights a chance.
Paso Robles had the ball twice inside the St. Joseph's 10-yard line but only managed a 33-yard field goal with 33 seconds to go in the quarter to extend its lead to 24-18.
The Bearcats had a fourth-and-goal from the Knights' 4-yard line but was stopped. St. Joseph responded by driving and finishing with a 7-yard touchdown pass from Paul Avila to Zak Karsh. The two-point conversion was successful, as Avila hit Chad Brooks with a pass.

Paso Robles High's offense continues to move the ball at will against the St. Joseph defense, as the Bearcats lead 21-10 at the half in their PAC 7 football game tonight at Paso Robles.
The Bearcats racked up 242 offensive yards and 15 first downs in the first half.
Garrett Nelson hit Elias Stokes for another touchdown in the second quarter. Stokes has 72 receiving and two receiving touchdowns in the first half. Nelson accumulated 84 passing yards and 48 rushing yards in the first half. Colton Madrigal has 110 rushing yards and a touchdown.
St. Joseph's offense is moving the ball as well, but only had a 34-yard field goal by Jacob Goeres in the second quarter. Paul Avila has 100 yards passing and a touchdown for the Knights, who trailed 7-7 after one quarter.

Paso Robles High's Colton Madrigal scored on a 7-yard touchdown run on the first play of the second quarter tonight to put the Bearcats up 14-7 over the visiting St. Joseph Knights in a PAC 7 football game in Paso Robles.
After deferring the kickoff until the second half, the Bearcats were able to halt the Knights' first drive after one first down before forcing a punt. Paso Robles (1-3, 0-1 PAC 7) took over at its own 32-yard line and drove 68 yards for a touchdown, capped by a 16-yard touchdown pass from Garrett Nelson to Elias Stokes to give the Bearcats an early 7-0 lead.
The Knights (2-3, 0-2) quickly responded with a score of their own as Paul Avila connected with Zak Karsh on a 45-yard touchdown pass to tie the score at 7.
